How to manage your beard

Yes, unfortunate reality, but shaving is one of life's little niggles. Actually I think in practice it is the thing that limits the time one can spend en femme without looking a mess.
For years I was a Philips fan, but the quality has plummeted since they outsourced to China. I'm now using a Braun series 5 shaver which comes with a cleaning tank - neatly answering the major worry of how on earth to clean the thing without wrecking the foil.

Picture courtesy Amazon, who had by far the best price, I'm afraid.
(Don't be tempted by the cheaper series 3. It has been re-designed and there are serious issues with quality.)
Result: I now find that with careful shaving I can add at least 2 hours to the time that my beard stays under control, which is not to be sneezed at.
One bonus of having the cleaning tank is that if you use the shaver straight out of the cleaner, the trace of alcohol on the blade seems to make it cut even closer.

And finally, Penny's advice is to buy a spare cutting head in advance - they do gradually lose their edge and changing it every so often really is worth the money. Happy shaving!

I purchased a Braun series 7, and loved the close shave it gave me. Much closer than my old Norelco. So much closer In fact, that I had to be careful, or I would nick myself almost as badly as with a blade. Unfortunately, my cutting head has worn out, and now it dosen't shave close at all, but it's over a year and a half old. The last time I looked, Amazon was out of replacement heads. Next time they have them, I'll buy at least two!

Yup, shaving is tiresome but at least with a good shaver it's worth
the effort. I recently bought an epilator to deal with the wayward
hairs on my upper chest. Even in bloke mode they are an embarassment.
So far, much less bother than wax (which isn't really wax at all of
course) and not very painful. Bit noisy though.
