The accidental photograph

Ever pressed the shutter on your camera and realised that the self-timer was not set? Did you occasionally, by accident, capture a moment which you'd otherwise have missed?

The other night after a trip out I grabbed a few snaps and this one happened all on its own:

Although it is a bit blurry I nonetheless liked it.
I suppose I was also relieved to see that without rearrangement the general shape and appearance was, well, pleasing.

I can tell myself that perhaps I did not look all that bad after all!

By the way, I was using my new tripod. Most tripods are either too small or heavy or both, and nearly all won't pack short enough to fit onto a cupboard shelf.

This one was a gem - it's a 5-section 785B by Manfrotto and it came from Jessops. It packs to under 450mm and is light. I think there is now a similar, newer model in the shops. Grab one if you can!
